NREMT Recertification

There are two ways you can renew your NREMT.

  1. Recertification by Exam
  2. Recertify by Continuing Education

Recertification by Exam

This option enables you to demonstrate continued cognitive competency without documenting continuing education.

    • Log in to your National Registry account. Complete a Recertification By Exam application and pay the exam fee.
    • After 24-48 hours, log in to your National Registry account and print your Authorization to Test (ATT) letter. Follow the directions in the letter to schedule your exam.
    • You may make one attempt to take and pass the exam between April 1 (one year prior to your current expiration date) and March 31 (your expiration date). A cognitive competency by exam form will become available through your National Registry account upon successful completion of the exam.
    • Return your completed cognitive competency by exam form by March 31 with signatures and supporting documentation. All other recertification requirements (including criminal conviction statement, verification of skills, etc.) must still be met and verified.
    • PLEASE NOTE THAT NHCPR IS AN AUTHORIZED PEARSON VUE® TESTING CENTER AND WE OFFER THIS EXAM.  Follow the steps above and choose New Hampshire CPR as your testing location.

Recertify by Continuing Education.

This option is the most popular to recertify your NREMT certification.   By attending approved education you not only do you satisfy the NREMT recertification requirements, but you also receive the latest updated information regarding EMS.

New Hampshire CPR, LLC offers CAPCE approved continuing education which meets or exceeds the standards set by the NREMT.

To help with understanding which NHCPR courses you need to take, we have created a cheat sheet document that explains how our courses fit into your NREMT renewal plan.

By taking creating your 3-course bundle, you will receive enough hours for most of your National Content and many levels will have extra hours that can be applied to your Individual Hours or your Local/State component.  These courses are approved for all EMS levels.

Suggested courses to bundle for National Component hours.

We have selected 3 courses that will help you achieve the hours for your NREMT National Component.

  • PEARS - The AHA's "Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization" course.  7.25 CAPCE HRS
  • GEMS -  The NAEMT's "Geriatric Education for EMS" course.  8 CAPCE HRS
  • EMS Safety - The NAEMT's " EMS Safety" Course.  8 CAPCE HRS

This chart shows how you can allocate the CAPCE hours received into the different National Content Categories - HOURS CHART

Obtaining a Pro-Membership will provide you affiliation with NHCPR allowing application for EMS licensure through the State of New Hampshire.  Some of the reasons to use our service:

  • You are a new EMT and want to obtain licensure before job hunting to increase your potential hireability.

  • You are a current EMT who wants continued licensure in the case of a break in affiliation with a licensed EMS service.  A break in affiliation would require you to reapply for an NH license using the current process causing delays in re-licensure.

  • You are a lapsed NREMT EMT who is attempting NREMT recertification through their re-entry process and need a psychomotor exam.

  • You are an EMT who is trying to obtain licensure in another state that requires a current provider license to complete the process.

Pro-Membership Cost: Setup Fee: $99.99 followed by a monthly fee of $9.99.  This is a subscription service, and your credit card will be charged monthly. Subscription cancellation or declined credit cards would terminate affiliation with NHCPR.   Affiliation with an EMS service is a requirement for NH licensure.

NH Licensed Discount:  New members that are already an NH Licensed EMS Provider may use the discount code "STATE" to reduce your setup fee to $39.99.

Membership Benefits:  Affiliation with NHCPR, a licensed EMS service for the purpose of the NH Bureau of EMS licensure.  A monthly fee will maintain EMS service affiliation for license purposes.  Discounts on CPR classes and refresher/NCCP classes.
